Our Mission
HealthReview was created with one goal: to bridge the gap between medical lab reports and the patients who receive them. Every day, millions of people worldwide receive blood test reports, urine reports and health check results they don't fully understand. We translate those numbers into plain English so you can have better conversations with your doctor.
We cover the most common tests, CBC, HbA1c, LFT, KFT, thyroid profile, lipid profile, Vitamin D, urine routine and more, with normal ranges, explanations of high and low values, and questions to ask your doctor.
Medical Review Process
Every page goes through the same five steps. Step 3 does not apply to all of them, and we say below exactly which pages it covers.
1. Research
Each page is built from peer-reviewed literature indexed in PubMed (US National Library of Medicine), clinical practice guidelines from recognised bodies, standard laboratory reference ranges, and official classification systems such as ICD-10-CM.
2. Sourcing and citation
Where we make specific clinical claims, we cite the source and link the DOI and PubMed ID so you can read the original yourself rather than taking our word for it.
3. Pharmacist review
Medication guides and blood-test pages are checked against standard reference ranges by a clinical pharmacist, and revised when guidelines change. Condition and symptom pages do not receive this review, and do not claim it.
4. Plain-language editing
We verify every page can be understood by someone with no medical background: no jargon, and no abbreviation left unexplained.
5. Corrections and updates
Pages are updated when guidelines change or when a reader reports a problem. Reports affecting medical accuracy are prioritised. Our full Editorial Policy explains this in detail.
Our Editorial Standards
Health information is only worth reading if you can check it. That shapes what we do:
- Publish typical adult reference ranges for orientation only, and tell readers to compare against the range printed on their own laboratory report
- Cite clinical sources where specific claims are made
- Update pages when medical guidelines change
- Never recommend specific medications, treatments or products
- Always direct readers to consult their treating physician
Who writes this site
HealthReview is written and run by one person: Suman Konda, PharmD, a clinical pharmacist registered with the Telangana State Pharmacy Council. There is no editorial team. Every page here is his, and his name and registration are on all of them.
We are not a medical practice, and nothing here is a diagnosis. A pharmacist’s training covers medicines, dosing, interactions, monitoring and the reading of laboratory reference ranges, and that is the ground these pages stand on. Diagnosis is not a pharmacist’s to give, which is why every page ends by sending you back to the clinician treating you.
Which pages carry a clinical review
Every page is written by the same person. On medication guides and blood-test pages he also checks the clinical detail directly, and those pages say so in their byline. Condition and guide pages carry no such line, because they have not had that check:
Suman Konda, PharmD
Suman is a licensed clinical pharmacist and the operator of HealthReview. That review focuses on the areas where a pharmacist's training is directly relevant: medicines, dosing, side effects, drug interactions and monitoring, and the interpretation of laboratory reference ranges.
Scope of review: medication guides and blood-test pages. Condition and symptom pages are written by the same pharmacist from published sources and are not individually clinician-reviewed. We say so rather than implying broader oversight than exists.
What we deliberately do not do
- We do not diagnose, and we do not interpret individual readers' results
- We do not recommend specific prescription medicines or doses for individuals
- We do not sell tests, supplements or treatments, and have no commercial relationship with any laboratory or manufacturer
- We do not claim clinical credentials we do not hold
